Severn Township wraps around Orillia to the north and west — Coldwater, Washago, Port Severn, and the shoreline along Sparrow Lake, the Severn River and Georgian Bay. The work here ranges from century farmhouses that have never been square to brand-new waterfront homes with walls of glass.

Farmhouse work is patient work. Floors slope, plaster has cracked and been patched, and door casings were cut by hand a hundred years ago. Cabinets and built-ins for these houses are scribed on site so they sit flush and level even when nothing around them is.

The waterfront builds are the opposite problem: big open rooms, tall ceilings and a view that the millwork has to respect rather than compete with. Wall units and bars for those houses are drawn with the sightlines in mind.
