Barrie, Ontario
Barrie woodworking,room by room.
Barrie basements and new-build kitchens make up a steady share of the calendar each year.
Barrie, from the south end to the old east end
Barrie is the busiest stop on the calendar after Orillia. Most of the work is in the newer subdivisions across the south end — Painswick, Holly, Ardagh and the streets off Mapleview — where houses were finished quickly and buyers are now replacing builder-grade kitchens and finishing basements they have lived above for a few years.
The older neighbourhoods near the waterfront and Allandale, and the east end above Kempenfelt Bay, are a different kind of job: smaller rooms, wonkier walls, and homeowners who want built-ins that look like they were always there. Those get the same scribe-to-the-wall install as anything in Orillia.
The shop is about thirty minutes up Highway 11, so a Barrie job is measured on site, built in Orillia, and installed by the same person who drew it. Nothing is subcontracted.
